Today the most popular pools are play pools with maximum depths of 5-6 ft deep. diving pools have strict requirements for design and size and generally cost more to build. There are many options beyond a diving board that a client can decide to add to their swimming pool including diving rocks built into the surrounding landscape or a waterfall.
-
Our average swimming pool is 90 perimeter foot or the equivalent of a 15x30 rectangle. Don’t base your project on average!
-
Although it seems like you could just drop a pool in your backyard fast and leave, that is just not the case. The time it takes to complete your project is determined by a myriad of factors including the complexity of your design and the time of year. Additionally, in our part of the country mother nature gets her say sometimes. For us the average pool install times are as follows:
Gunite: 9-12 Weeks
Fiberglass: 3-6 Weeks
Oasis: 1 - 6 Weeks

There are many different phases to constructing an outdoor living project, particularly the excavation of the swimming pool. Not all of the phases are like this though.
Our crews typically work during daylight hours, but will honor any restrictions placed on work hours by the client or local authorities for your project. These restrictions need to be brought up during your design and construction consultation in order to create an accurate timelime.
-
During your design and construction consultation your project site will be assessed. It will be determined the best location to access your construction site. Some of our equipment used is very heavy and can cause damage. Paradise Custom Pools does everything that we can to mitigate damage to existing landscape/driveways.
As such, if you have a potential for risk for damage, such as pavers or fencing it may be necessary to remove those temporarily. If such a risk exists, you will be notified of it prior to construction.
Other phases, such as plumbing, require trenching so your yard may not look pristine during those phases.

-
Incorporating a swimming pool into your outdoor living design will increase the value of your home, but it is not a direct transfer of value (adding $75,000 pool will not add $75,000 in value) The value added by a swimming pool should be measured in years of memories made with family and friends, in addition to the value and marketability it brings to your home.
-
A down payment should never be more than 10% of the project or $1000, whichever is less.
Paradise Custom Pools requires a $1000 on all projects.
Our construction contract lays out a schedule of progress payments that is specific to your project. unlike other companies, we never ask for more that 10% of the overall cost of the project (fiberglass pools have an exception). there is a minimum of 10 progress payments in your project. we believe this protects both parties and is by far the fairest way to operate.
we always work for our money, meaning that outside of our deposit we do the work for that construction phase and then you pay! Your final payment is always due at pool orientation.

Yes you will have a person that manages your project and can answer any questions or concerns that arise. Additionally, we have a text line set up for our customer service.

Generally hot tub is considered portable and is made of acrylic. They are more therapeutic and are generally the same shapes and sizes.
A spa is typically attached to a pool and spills over into the pool, but does not have to. This spilling over action allows the spa to create a water feature that you can enjoy.
Paradise Custom Pools has multiple lines of hot tubs and these can be incorporated into Outdoor living designs by our team. Our designers can fit these into landscapes with walls, water features, rock formations and other integration techniques.
-
Yes you can provided the room is there. Notify your design consultant that you are looking to add a spa to your pool in the future and we can plan for the future addition with plumbing and any other details that are necessary.
It should be mentioned that adding a spa in the future will incur more costs than adding during new construction.
-
Anything can be added later! Depending on the type of water feature, some can be added after a pool is built, but it can be expensive. Price will be dependent on necessary construction and plumbing modifications, in addition to the components of the feature itself.
-
Many people will put their swimming pool equipment around the side of their home or behind an existing structure. We can add screening walls to hide equipment or use landscaping or hardscaping to hide the equipment as well. Pool equipment is strategically placed for functionality, accessibility and aesthetics.
The larger the distance between the swimming pool and the body of water the more costly the installation will be. Additionally, the longer the distance degrades the efficiency of the pool equipment and sometimes means upgrades to larger equipment to handle those distances.
-
In Oklahoma, the swimming pool season will last from April to October. Depending on the ever changing weather here, we can see March to November as well. Adding a heater or heat pump will allow you to add a month or two on the front and back end of the swimming season.
-
A gas heater uses natural gas or propane to heat the water. It is faster, can heat to hotter temps, and can heat water under a variety of outdoor conditions. However, a gas heater is costly to operate.
Heat pumps are electric, making them much more efficient and economical. However, heat pumps cannot operate during certain circumstances, such as extreme cold, as the heat pump uses the ambient temperature to heat. The heat pump also takes longer to increase the water temperature.

There are several different options for getting shade around your pool. Of course, the most economical solution is smart placement of your pool. Other solutions include umbrellas, pergolas or other shade structures, or shade sails that attach to poles anchored in your yard or your patio and that stretch across areas that need protection from the sun. Shade trees are also an option, but you must consider how much they may litter in your pool and how the root system may eventually interfere with your pool structure. Always check with a landscaper before placing any living plant around your pool.

Each new pool customer gets an orientation from an in-house technicians. Depending upon the complexity of the pool, orientations generally last one hour. Beyond that, our in-house service coordinators are available by phone or contact form to answer any questions. Manuals are also given to homeowners for reference.
